Vinburnine is a nutritional product which is semi-synthesised from Vincamine (a natural nootropic found in the Periwinkle plant (Vinca Minor)). Vinburnine is a peripheral vasodilator with cerebral activities that also act as a cerebral metabolic stimulant. Vinburnine is primarily known for its ability to release oxygen from the red blood cells and delivery it to tissues. Optimal levels of oxygen are crucial to maintain a normal cerebral function and neuronal health. Therefore by increasing oxygen circulation in the brain Vinburnine directly influences learning and memory processes.
As a peripheral vasodilator Vinburnine appears to be able to relax the smooth muscle cells within the walls of blood vessels. Some evidence also suggests that Vinburnine stimulates acetylcholine neurotransmission. Acetylcholine is a very important neurotransmitter responsible for a number of cognitive functions, such as memory and learning.
The recommended dosage is 60 mg taken twice a day.
Just like other nootropics, Vinburnine is a very safe dietary product. However, gastrointestinal side effects are sometimes reported following Vinburnine ingestion.
